City of Sammamish Community Meeting

City of Sammamish Community Meeting

During “peak time”, 8:30 a.m. until 8:30 p.m., a fully staffed Eastside Fire & Rescue Aid Unit is housed at Station 81. Two thirds of the incidents that EF&R is dispatched to occur during this peak time. EF&R have implemented a deployment strategy that is designed to ensure response times and improve “unit availability”.

This dynamic response model has been developed to meet the changing needs of the community. Improved response times and a greater focus on “stopping the clock” will continue to support improved outcomes from time sensitive medical issues such as cardiac arrest and stroke or CVA (Cerebral Vascular Accidents). Improved response times and highly trained Firefighter/EMTs arriving within the first minutes of a structure fire slow the growth of the fire and improve the survivability of community members within the structure. Throughout the day resources are dynamically deployed in anticipation of future emergency calls rather than waiting in a static nature at a designated fire station location.

Eastside Fire & Rescue and City of Sammamish representatives have scheduled a community meeting at the Pine Lake Community Center on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. to answer any questions.
